How Volunteers Help to Achieve Our Vision

Here at Music Forward, the success of our various programs would not be possible without the invaluable support that our volunteers provide for us.

Our amazing volunteers are responsible for the majority of key activities that make up our programming. As an example, our volunteers for UForward devote their time to allowing students to get a behind the scenes glimpse of the entertainment industry. To do this, they volunteer in roles such as a job shadow host or a guest speaker. Students are able to better understand the job requirements in those fields while also participating in other career development opportunities like resume writing and mock interviewing. Our volunteers help to drive our mission of career preparation by investing their time into mentoring our talented youth for real world situations.

With Bringing Down the House, volunteers have the option to lead a Q&A for our students as well as to participate as panelists for the BDTH final showcase. As panelists, they are able to offer their knowledgeable expertise and invaluable advice to the youth. With the help of such seasoned professionals, our youth are exposed to different professions within the entertainment industry and are able to network with top talent in the field.

Volunteers are a vital part of our team contributing to the fulfillment of our mission by providing mentorship and career preparedness to our
youth. Whether it be event preparation, hosting, job shadowing, or the facilitation of the events themselves, our volunteers provide Music Forward with the support to be able to achieve our vision. They make it possible for us to break down the barriers to opportunity for our youth who have endless potential.
